Steel Plants Zoom’s steel factory in India produces sponge iron (direct reduced Iron - DRI) and mild steel billets. The factory is undergoing a $240M expansion which will include plate and bar capacity with an annual output of 500K tons. Additional integrated steel facilities are going up in UAE and India that will be commissioned in 2009. The combined production capacity of these and existing factories will be 1.3 million annual tons. Zoom is also building a 90MW power plant with the India factory for cost containment and power independence. Since demand is continuing to grow, it is expected that the output will be further scaled up. |

Aluminum and Alloy plants Aluminum billets and rolling plants are under construction and expected to come on line during 2008. An alloy wheel casting plant will go into production in spring of 2008. All these plants are situated in the UAE. Zoom’s investments in such facilities (equity/debt combination):

Automotive A JV with M/s Yangzhou Auto Plastic Parts Co. Ltd. (YAPP) of China will install a plastic fuel tank manufacturing facility in India to be operational in Q1, 2009. YAPP supplies fuel tanks to Volkswagen, Audi, GM and Ford and commands a market share of more than 50% in China. Zoom has also acquired another fuel tank plant from Nissan to produce 250K tanks annually of 35-70 liter sizes and applicable to 4-wheel drives. |
